Job Summary


Seaman and Sons Builders is a custom home builder that primarily focuses on new cottage and home builds while offering renovations and additions since 1954.

We are seeking the right person to take on the role as our only Architectural Technologist to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will design and develop architectural projects, working closely with the team at Seaman and Sons Builders including project managers and the owner to ensure that designs are accurately translated into technical drawings and specifications. This position requires proficiency in various design software and strong analytical skills to support both residential (95%) and commercial construction (5%) projects. This is new role at Seaman and Sons Builders.

Our main office is downtown Southampton, Ontario with a dedicated office space and parking spot for this role within our organization. We are a custom home and cottage builder that follows the design & build philosophy. We have determined that in house architectural design will allow improve the overall building experience.

Responsibilities



Proven background to develop detailed architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software. Prepare and review project documentation, including schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Utilize SketchUp or NavisWorks for 3D modeling and visualization of projects. Conduct site visits to gather data, assess project requirements, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and municipal regulations Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation using Microsoft Project. NetZero knowledge building knowledge Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project goals are met. Maintain organized project files and documentation using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Apply knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods to inform design decisions. Demonstrate strong time management skills to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications



Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or Architecture required Accredited Architectural Technologist is required as we do not have any other staff with Architectural formal education. Or higher qualifications. The design drawings will require the successful candidate to have BCIN stamp issued by Ontario government. Higher qualifications would be permitted. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or NavisWorks and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong drafting skills with an understanding of blueprint reading and construction documentation. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret technical information accurately. Proficiency in English and French is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients. Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines. Leadership qualities that foster teamwork within a collaborative environment. residential construction experience would be a significant asset to meet our needs

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
