What you will do:
The
Architectural technologist
plays a pivotal role in bridging design concepts with technical feasibility. They contribute by translating architectural designs into detailed technical drawings and specifications that guide construction and engineering teams.
Their expertise ensures compliance with building regulations, sustainability goals, and budget constraints. Collaborating closely with designers, architects, engineers, and contractors, they facilitate seamless communication and integration of diverse project elements, ultimately supporting the team in delivering cohesive, efficient, and innovative architectural solutions.
Responsibilities:
Perform 3D modeling of buildings, baths, furniture, equipment, etc;
Define, write and communicate specifications and manage their database;
Produce preliminary plans, block plans, existing plans, sketches, layout plans for approval by senior designers;
Prepare working drawings and shop drawings;
Produce renderings, videos, virtual reality files and presentations;
Coordinate between disciplines and with various professionals and contractors;
Collect constraints, standards, regulations and codes that may affect your projects, and ensure that your projects comply with them;
Research and compare materials, hardware, furnishings and technologies;
Carry out follow-ups, site visits, surveys, update plans and produce as-build;
Propose solutions to correct problems encountered;
Travel as needed to further facilitate ongoing projects.
To be successful in this position you will need:
Minimum of a college diploma (DEC) in architectural technology or vocational diploma (DEP) in building drafting;
Minimum of
3 (three) years'
experience in a similar role;
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Autodesk (Revit, AutoCAD) , Enscape;
Bilingualism in French and English is essential for our operations outside of Quebec.
