We're a collaborative architecture firm based in Edmonton, AB, working on a mix of commercial, multi-family, and mixed-use projects. Our team is creative, fast-moving, and passionate about producing high-quality work. As our project load grows and our junior staff take on more responsibility, we're looking for someone who can help ensure our drawings are consistent, compliant, and ready for submission.
The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented
Architect or Technologist
who can take ownership of our internal quality assurance and compliance reviews. You'll work closely with our project teams to review drawing sets before they go out for permit, tender, or construction -- catching issues early, mentoring junior team members, and helping us build a stronger internal review process.
We're open to structuring this position as
either a full-time in-house role
or a
consultant engagement
, depending on your availability, experience and preferences.
What You'll Do
Review architectural drawing sets for completeness, coordination, and compliance with Building Code and local zoning bylaws.
Identify and document issues or inconsistencies across plans, elevations, and sections.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to project teams.
Help refine and maintain our internal QA/QC checklists and standards.
Optionally assist with permit submissions or coordination with consultants.
You'll Be a Great Fit If You:
Have 5+ years of experience in architectural production, detailing, or building code review.
Are familiar with Building Code, zoning bylaws, and permitting processes.
Have strong attention to detail and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Communicate feedback clearly and professionally.
Are comfortable working independently and managing your own review process.
Bonus Points For:
Experience using Bluebeam or similar markup software.
Familiarity with Edmonton's permitting and development approval process.
A passion for mentoring or process improvement.
