Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist who wants to work alongside our Senior Interior Designers to create successful and beautiful interior spaces for our clients across Canada. This role would suit a well-rounded mid-senior level architectural technologist or interior draftsperson who is comfortable to work on all phases of production including being able to do a high-level design drafting of architectural details.
Our ideal candidate will possess robust technical skills and be well versed in working with mid to large sized mixed use projects, consisting of commercial work and some medical project experience is an asset and will be capable of working independently and responsible for self- management of project deliverables (from schematic design through to construction completion).
Responsibilities:

  • Working on commercial/medical projects of various stages, scales and complexity.
  • Drafting projects in AutoCad (some computer rendering).
  • Preparation and issuance of project deliverables within the project schedule (Test-fits, Permit, Tender, Construction, etc.)
  • Provide detailed drafting support at all aspects of the design production process; that includes but not limited to, detailing permit application, tender and construction documents.
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously with internal team members and collaborating with governing officials, engineering consultants, etc
  • Attend internal and client meetings on a weekly basis
  • Other duties as required

Education and Experience:
  • Successfully graduated from an accredited post-secondary institution in Architectural Technology or Interior Design (2yr. diploma minimum)
  • Member of an accredited organization (ATO; ARIDO; NCIDQ; AAA; etc.) an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience in computer drafting production
  • Advanced knowledge and application of AutoCAD (Revit/Sketchup an asset)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Canadian industry related work experience.
  • Knowledgeable use of the Canadian National/Provincial Building Codes, Municipal By-Laws and zoning requirements (1yr. experience)
  • Strong and clear English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Bluebeam (an asset).
  • Proficient at producing interior/architectural working drawings with a good understanding of drafted formats.
  • Confident to make decisions, with a will to succeed and grow.
  • Strong understanding of project deliverables, with solid experience throughout all project phases.
  • Have extensive experience working with the Nation/Provincial Building Code and researching requirements for permit application with municipal/provincial/federal jurisdictions.
