: ARDEX Americas (www.ArdexAmericas.com), is the Global industry leader in the manufacturing and development of high-performance specialty building materials. As ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATIONS REPRESENTATIVE, WESTERN CANADA team, you will identify and secure ARDEX product opportunities with Architects, Specifiers, Designers, Engineers, National Accounts, and other end users, with the goal of driving sales opportunities through specification acquisition. Position covers Western Canada with a focus on VANCOUVER and ALBERTA (home base location of VANCOUVER). Approximately 70% time in Vancouver, with 30% travel (including some overnight). Key responsibilities
Source leads, obtain appointments and build relationships with architects, design firms, general contractors etc, with the goal of specification acquisition and retention through product education presentations, library updates, lunch and learns and industry events
Call on and support the Preferred Partner and Choice Distributor network with product education
Support the Global Project Services team (GPS). Identify GPS project opportunities through new and existing architectural, design, and engineering accounts. Provide presentations and miscellaneous support for the GPS team when required.
Attend & participate at regional and national Architectural and industry related tradeshows. Help develop effective tradeshow displays, promotional flyers, print advertisements and direct mail pieces with support from Marketing.
Develop, implement and execute field action plans and specification strategies
Work closely with the territory Sales Team by providing necessary product and specification information
Effectively utilize lead provision software and ARDEX CRM systems to document and track all known project specifications from initial spec to completion
Actively participate in local chapters of trade associations
Experience and Skills:
Minimum five (5) years architectural and or / specifications experience is essential
Familiar with architectural specifications and construction design elements is essential
Experience with building products or flooring installation products is essential
Ability to effectively present in front of large groups
Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills
High level of energy and enthusiasm for the business and be customer driven and professional
Excellent analytical, organizational, listening and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, writing and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM Systems, Outlook and the Internet is essential
Must possess a current, valid and unexpired driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean driving record
Must be able to undertake periodic travel to the U.S.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds with a carrying capability of 20 pounds
Education
Four (4) year college degree preferred, or minimum High School Diploma with relevant work experience
