Summary

We are seeking a talented

Architectural Designer

to join our team and lead the design and permitting of medium to large-scale residential interior renovations, custom homes, and home additions. This role focuses on delivering creative, practical, and code-compliant design solutions while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients to understand design objectives, budgets, and timelines Develop conceptual designs, floor plans, 3D models, and detailed construction drawings Prepare and coordinate permit application packages, including working with municipal officials Liaise with structural engineers, contractors, and consultants throughout the design and build process Conduct occasional site visits to review design intent and address construction-related issues Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code (including Part 9/11) and municipal zoning by-laws Support project managers with design-related documentation and communication

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field 3-7 years of relevant experience in residential design, renovation, or home additions Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or similar) Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code and residential permitting processes Excellent design presentation, drafting, and communication skills Ability to balance creativity with technical accuracy and attention to detail

Assets

BCIN qualification for residential design Experience with secondary suites, laneway or garden suites, or ADUs Familiarity with Toronto's Fastrack permit system or Committee of Adjustment processes
