The Architectural Designer is responsible for the development of technical, creative, accurate and functional designs and specifications in collaboration with the design team. This role requires effective listening and interpretation from initial concept with the client to delivery of the completed design package.What We Offer: 1. Deliver outstanding, professional and friendly client service2. Be an exceptional, collaborative team player3. Develop exceptional designs and plans, positioning Stattonrock as a top design firm4. Meet with clients (on and off site) to discover their vision and design needs and interpret that to create innovative and elevated plans5. Site measures as required for renovations6. Create preliminary drawings of floorplans/elevations and coordinating revisions with client while keeping the overall budget in mind7. Create construction/permit drawings for custom homes and renovations8. Able to work independently on concept plans and permit drawings9. Analyze sites to identify any challenges, able to research municipalities as required for zoning to ensure project meets all the municipal requirements for the property10. Understand BC Building code and structure, and apply it to the drawings during design phase11. Understand RSI calculations and limiting distances12. Able to check work for accuracy and problem solving13. Coordinate with engineers, municipalities or other professionals as needed14. Execute Systems and Processes with extreme accuracy, follow through and urgency15. Research and apply innovation: Net Zero, Step Program, Green building initiatives, etc.16. Continue education with a focus on residential design and architecture17. Save files where required, keeping organized and current18. Ensuring Project Managers have the latest updated plans19. Monthly meetings with manager and others to present innovative ideas on how to execute role more efficiently and effectivelyAccountabilities: Independence and reliability to be reviewed twice a year during performance review1. Minimum 3 years' experience with Revit3. Experience working on residential projects including planning, designing, and drafting4. Experience working with clients and team to produce designs that are innovative and current5. Advanced understanding of applicable, current, and up to date Building Code Part 9 and CSA certification requirements6. Navigate, understand & implement the different certification requirements7. Ability to effectively communicate with Engineers, Intertek, and any other agency as required8. Speed, accuracy, and high attention to detailWorking Conditions: 1. Working part time to start, approximately 20 hours a week2. Weekly meetings in both Abbotsford and Mission offices3. Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, client meetings, and attend further education seminars or school4.
