Overview


We are seeking a talented Design Director to lead our creative team and drive innovative design solutions that align with our company's vision and objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in design, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and mentor a team of designers. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance creativity with practicality, ensuring that all design projects meet both aesthetic and functional requirements while keeping robust communication with clients and consultants alike.

Responsibilities



Lead the design team in developing high-quality creative concepts for various projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Oversee the design process from concept to execution, providing guidance and feedback to team members throughout. Oversees design presentations, monitors project design development, and provides design direction and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design firmwide. Establish and maintain design standards, ensuring consistency across all communications. Conduct regular reviews of design work, offering constructive criticism and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the team remains at the forefront of design innovation. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements



Proven experience as a design director or similar leadership role within a creative environment. Must possess a thorough knowledge of architecture practice with emphasis on design, building materials, construction methods, integration of engineering disciplines, and building costs/codes. Manage a team of 8-10 people of different calibers and abilities. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and leadership capabilities. Proficiency in design software such as Advanced AutoCAD skills and Revit. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience in mentoring and developing junior designers is highly desirable. A passion for creativity and an eye for aesthetics that aligns with our firm's identity. Excellent interpersonal service skills; effective communication with clients, co-workers, vendors, subcontractors, and contractors in person, on the phone and in writing Demonstrated flexibility on the job; ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
