KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
We're looking for an Architect/Leader with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. This architect will be primarily responsible for our custom OCI Commerce Platform systems that drive our commercial services including subscription management and lifecycle, rating / pricing, cost computing, billing / invoicing, and integration upstream and downstream with sales and financial systems like Fusion Applications. We are in the process of re-designing and rebuilding this entire pipeline to match our growth and future business models, we need an Architect now to drive the team in developing and executing a multi-year vision towards a new stack. With your superb technical, research and analytical capabilities and demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively to delight our customers, you'll partner with the existing leaders in the organization to drive innovation. Making these deep architectural changes calls for an outstanding builder, mentor, and technical leader with an established industry track record of success in leading large cloud scale projects.
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Drive architecture in the team for approximately 60-80 SDEs
  • Lead the strategic redesign, implementation, and migration for multiple high throughput financial and commercial systems that encompass every cloud subscription in Oracle
  • Foster devops mindset and culture of testing in the team
  • Ensure the legacy systems we are replacing continue to have a high operational bar
Responsibilities:
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Exceptional communication skills, technically fearless and a strong product sense with the ability to seek and absorb business context, lead, and develop engineering culture, and exhibit good judgement exercised through developed critical thinking.
  • Knowledge or experience in cloud ordering/metering/billing systems, cost computation systems, or other high throughput financial systems.
  • Knowledge or experience in compliance and financial controls such as SOX.
  • 15+ years' experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.

Education
A Bachelors' degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
Qualifications:

CA: Hiring Range in CAD from: $116,400 to $254,300 per annum.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
