Job Summary

Uncle Buck's Tree Service is seeking an experienced and reliable

Arborist

to lead a small crew during our busy 2026 season (May-September). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in tree care, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, performing skilled arboricultural tasks and overseeing at least one groundworker ("groundy") while completing projects efficiently and professionally.

Duties

Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removals using proper climbing and rigging techniques. Lead and mentor a small crew, ensuring safe and efficient workflow on every job. Operate chainsaws, chippers, rigging gear, and climbing systems safely and effectively. Operate bucket trucks or lifts when required (experience an asset, not mandatory). Conduct site assessments to identify hazards, job requirements, and safe work plans. Maintain clear communication with team members and customers. Support overall site cleanup, brush handling, and equipment care. Uphold safety standards and ensure the crew follows proper procedures at all times. (Optional asset duties): Assist with basic landscape tasks such as planting or mulching if required by clients.

Requirements

Proven experience in arboriculture or professional tree service

(references required). Strong knowledge of pruning, climbing, and rigging techniques. Ability to lead a small team and manage job sites safely and efficiently. Experience operating chainsaws, chippers, and climbing gear; bucket truck experience is an asset. Physically able to perform demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Relevant arboriculture certifications (e.g., ISA) are an asset but not required. Valid driver's license; additional endorsements an asset. Strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
