Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Arborist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about tree health, environmental stewardship, and high-quality landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in tree care, aerial equipment operation, and regulatory compliance while working at heights.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of trees to evaluate health, structure, and maintenance needs Perform pruning, trimming, and safe removal of trees using industry best practices and climbing or aerial equipment Operate bucket trucks and aerial work platforms (AWPs) for elevated tree care work Utilize GIS technology to map and monitor tree inventories and health trends Rig and remove branches using safe and controlled techniques Dispose of debris and maintain cleanliness of work areas Assist with general landscape maintenance and enhancement of green spaces Collaborate with the crew to execute seasonal tree care plans and site objectives Educate clients on tree care practices, maintenance schedules, and health management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of tree biology, common pests/diseases, and treatment methods Experience with tree climbing, rigging, and aerial rescue procedures preferred Proficiency in the safe operation of bucket trucks, lifts, and chainsaws Familiarity with GIS mapping tools for arboricultural data management Background in landscape maintenance, including gardening and site cleanup Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions

Certifications and Safety Requirements

Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain the following:

ISA Certified Arborist (or equivalent certification) AWP / MEWP Certification (Aerial Work Platform / Mobile Elevated Work Platform) Working at Heights Certification (required for all tasks performed above 3 metres) Fall Protection Training and use of appropriate PPE (harness, lanyards, etc.) Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue Certification (preferred) Standard First Aid & CPR

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
