Aquatics Supervisor (Full Time)

Salary: $45,303.00/yr - $56,629.00/yr

What qualifications are we looking for?

At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
\xc2\xb7 Supervisory experience is an asset;
\xc2\xb7 YMCA Swim Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, or Swim for Life Instructor certification;
\xc2\xb7 National Lifeguard certification - Pool option;
\xc2\xb7 Lifesaving instructor preferred;
\xc2\xb7 National Lifeguard Instructor and First Aid Instructor would be an asset;
\xc2\xb7 Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
\xc2\xb7 Evidence of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search;
\xc2\xb7 Three professional references required.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Duties and responsibilities include:
\xc2\xb7 Ensure a safe and fun environment for all staff, volunteers and participants;
\xc2\xb7 Respond promptly to members\' concerns and inform the Aquatic Director of unresolved issues;
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate excellent customer service by being friendly, courteous and helpful to all patrons;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure that all staff are ready, on deck and prepared when their shifts start;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure programs start and end on time;
\xc2\xb7 Deliver leadership courses;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure staff certifications are current and employee files are up-to-date;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure all staff adhere to the Aquatic Policies and Procedures;
\xc2\xb7 Assist the Aquatic Director with staff evaluations;
\xc2\xb7 Monitor changes of shifts and ensure adequate coverage;
\xc2\xb7 Maintain current inventory of aquatic supplies and recommend purchases;
\xc2\xb7 Monitor and report pool statistics;
\xc2\xb7 Maintain payroll sheets as scheduled;
\xc2\xb7 Support the Aquatic Director as needed;
\xc2\xb7 Support the branch in registration, Duty Manager shifts, and ongoing special events;
\xc2\xb7 20-30 hours of on deck hours, lifeguarding and instruction and teaching of classes;
\xc2\xb7 Support the branch general manager in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community;
\xc2\xb7 Participate in the Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign.
