Course Description: Examen critique de l'elaboration et de l'application de normes et de taxonomies touchant les metadonnees visant a soutenir la decouverte, la gestion et l'utilisation des ressources. Le cours examine les normes et les taxonomies issues de divers domaines (par exemple, du patrimoine culturel, de l'education, du gouvernement, et du commerce electronique) couvrant un large eventail de ressources (textes, images, donnees geospatiales, multimedias). Il explore aussi les questions relatives a la planification et a la gestion de projets de metadonnees et a l'interoperabilite dans un environnement reparti. Anterieurement ISI 6523.

Requirements:
Doctorat ou diplome de Maitrise en sciences de l'information ou bibliotheconomie d'une institution accreditee ALA, requis. Avoir de preference une experience de travail dans le domaine des metadonnees et taxonomies.
