Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and ambitious Apprentice Welder to join our growing team. As a key member of our manufacturing division, you will play a crucial role in fabricating and welding components for oilfield equipment. The successful candidate will bring a high level of enthusiasm, precision, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
Perform welding tasks in accordance with company specifications and industry standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using various welding processes.
Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of welded components.
Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and project goals.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Source, cut, and prepare parts for fabrication.
Operate Overhead crane for heavy lifts (training provided).
Operate Iron Worker machine (training provided).
Operate bandsaw/chop saw (training provided).
Operate Drill Press (training provided).
Operate hand tools (grinders, drills, torches)
Assist pipefitting crew with bolt-up when needed.
General shop housekeeping (sweeping of work areas, cleaning/maintenance of tools).
Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Indentured apprentice welder in Alberta
Proficiency in various welding techniques, including but not limited to: GMAW, SMAW, MCAW, FCAW.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Enthusiasm towards learning
CWB all positioning FCAW certification is considered an asset.
Education and Experience:
No formal experience needed
1 year welding experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Overtime after 8 Hours per day and/or 44 HR per week as required
