Apprentice Service Technician, Mobile Cranes

Job Description

As an Apprentice Service Technician specializing in mobile cranes, you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of crane maintenance, repair, and inspection. This hands-on role is designed to help you develop strong technical skills in both mechanical and electrical systems while upholding the company's high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company health, environmental, and safety policies, supporting a safe work environment. Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled, and perform other duties as assigned. Follow company-created checklists to inspect and test vehicles, ensuring equipment readiness. Assist with standard electrical and mechanical repairs, under supervision. Learn repair techniques with mentorship from experienced mechanics. Test vehicles before and after repairs to confirm successful maintenance. Help maintain the workshop and customer areas, and keep inventory areas organized. Accurately and promptly submit reports and technical documents, including service reports. Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and develop your skills.

Competencies

Must be a First Year Apprentice

Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components. Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including component exchange, repair, and warranty-related tasks. Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey detailed and complex information. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and unsupervised for extended periods. Fully proficient with computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
