We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Plumber/Gas Fitter to join our construction and maintenance team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in plumbing and gas systems, building techniques, and related trades. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses basic mechanical skills, and is interested in developing a career in the plumbing and construction industry. This paid apprenticeship provides valuable training under the supervision of experienced professionals, with opportunities for skill advancement and certification.
Duties
Assist plumbers with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
Support the assembly of piping systems, fixtures, and related components
Participate in site preparation, including carpentry and basic construction tasks
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues with plumbing or mechanical systems
Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Support routine maintenance activities on plumbing equipment and systems
Requirements
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, carpentry, HVAC, or related trades is preferred but not required
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics is a plus
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams; basic math skills are necessary for measurements and calculations
Strong interest in learning plumbing techniques and construction practices
Ability to work safely with construction materials and equipment in various environments
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Willingness to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
Prior experience in construction or maintenance trades is advantageous but not mandatory
