WGL specializes in Pipeline, Facility, and Civil Construction. We have grown from a single crew operation to a company that employs nearly 500 full and part-time workers, with offices in Peace River and Grande Prairie. Weaver is looking to add to our team!
Weaver Group has the following long-term positions available, within the Grande Prairie, Alberta area:
Apprentice Pipefitters
General Requirements
Minimum 1 years experience working in gas/oilfield environments. Capable of taking direction, following written/verbal instruction and working independently. Able to competently operate a variety of hand, power tools and equipment. Proficient in English reading, writing and language skills. Able to assess, identify and minimize safety risks and hazards. Capable of performing physically demanding work at heights or on elevated surfaces. Willing to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all climates. Available to work shifts and extended hours when necessary.
Qualifications
Preference given to registered apprentices however, WGL is willing to sponsor the right candidates to register as an apprentice. Current Common Safety Orientation (CSO) required. Current Intermediate / Standard First Aid with Level C CPR required. Current H2S (Energy Safety Canada or Work Safe BC issued) required. Current Aerial Work Platform (AWP) and Fall Arrest preferred.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License required
(must be able to get to work as shop is located 15 minutes outside of Grande Prairie and is not accessible by public transit).Must be local to Grande Prairie area as the position does not qualify for LOA.
Wage dependent upon year of apprenticeship, experience and qualifications.
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: $26.00-$40.50 per hour
