Job Description

The Apprentice Millwright's primary focus is to safely disassemble, inspect and rebuild pumps according to specifications, layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. You will utilize a variety of tools and processes to ensure effective installations and applications of Westpower's products and services.

Education, Skills, and Experience



High School Diploma or equivalent GED Must have Millwright Trade Certification Looking for a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice 2 years or more experience with centrifugal, reciprocating pumps, gearboxes & Mixers is an asset. Must be able to read blueprints and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions. Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines with safety as a priority. Ability to detect technical malfunctions and repair the same. Experience with laser alignment and vibration analysis an asset Must be able to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions. Computer literacy

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Disassemble, Inspect, and rebuild a variety of pumps, mixers & gearboxes. Inspect all machinery and equipment of a manufacturing unit. Assembling machinery of a unit and ensuring the proper functioning of the same. Detecting defect and malfunctions in the functioning of machines and repairing the same. Refurbishing machinery and replacing parts to optimize output. Obtaining feedback from the production department regarding the functioning of the machinery. Using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools: Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Performs installations and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trades workers. Placing orders for spare and replacement parts and filing order forms and documentations for the same. Complying with all safety measures outlined by the company for all work processes. Maintaining a record of all the maintenance work that has been conducted on the machinery. Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot and assess issues in the field. Be on-site to witness and support installations and start-ups. Support and direct on-site workers at customer facilities to adhere to proper techniques for specific equipment. Transfer knowledge and information to customer sites. Draft reports and communicate field information with Calgary and Edmonton Westpower locations. Adhere to and promote safe work practices of Westpower and the customer sites. Attend required safety training and read customer specific safety documents and policies. Any other job related, and support activity duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.75-$41.90 per hour
