Role : The Apprentice position is focused on training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills. Training will be a combination of theory and practical on-the-job training. Under the supervision of experienced assemblers, the Mechanical Assembler Apprentice performs the assembly of mechanical products. In addition, the apprentice may be required to perform the duties of a production assistant and general helper. Tasks :
Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for bonding components.
Assemble and integrate antenna and payload components.
Support repeater integration and panel integration.
Critical integration of passive inter modulation (PIM) sensitive antennas.
Perform occasional machining (an asset).
Prepare, assemble and integrate composite structures.
Any other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
Reading of drawings.
Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
Use of production databases.
Good knowledge of French.
Fine manual dexterity
Education :
Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a related field.
Experience :
None to two (2) years of experience required.
A combination of education and experience deemed relevant will be considered.
Linguistic Level :
Basic knowledge of English is an asset
