Role : The Apprentice position is focused on training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills. Training will be a combination of theory and practical on-the-job training. Under the supervision of experienced assemblers, the Mechanical Assembler Apprentice performs the assembly of mechanical products. In addition, the apprentice may be required to perform the duties of a production assistant and general helper. Tasks :

• Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for bonding components.
• Assemble and integrate antenna and payload components.
• Support repeater integration and panel integration.
• Critical integration of passive inter modulation (PIM) sensitive antennas.
• Perform occasional machining (an asset).
• Prepare, assemble and integrate composite structures.
• Any other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications Required :

• Reading of drawings.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
• Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
• Use of production databases.
• Good knowledge of French.
• Fine manual dexterity

Education :

• Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a related field.

Experience :

• None to two (2) years of experience required.
  • A combination of education and experience deemed relevant will be considered.

Linguistic Level :

• Basic knowledge of English is an asset
