Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics 3rd or 4th Year

Our Heavy Duty Mechanics keep us running fierce. They troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair mobile equipment to keep the mill running and keep it running safely. We are seeking a

3rd or 4th year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

to join our

largest sawmill

, located in

High Level

, Alberta. Our

High Level

Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for

customers around the world

so they can build their homes and their communities.



Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:


Demonstrated

experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with a valid apprenticeship

in progress, currently at the

3rd or 4th year level.

Strong

troubleshooting and

problem-solving

skills. Ability to read

blueprints, diagrams and schematics

and consistently

follow work

processes and procedures.

You use your knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for

improvement and cost-savings

.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work

independently and with a team

.

In this role you will:


Use your knowledge and experience to

troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate and perform maintenance

work on a variety of machinery. Tackle equipment issues before they arise through

preventative and predictive maintenance

programs. Put

safety first

as you

operate hoisting and lifting devices

to position machinery and parts during the

assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery

.

Inspect and examine machinery and equipment

to

detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions

.

competitive wage of $46.36 per hour,

and as a

3rd year apprentice, $43.75 per hour.
