We are seeking 1st - 4th year Apprentice Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to commute to the area as required. You possess a strong desire to learn electrical work alongside a journeyperson electrician who will guide you in blueprints and schematics, as well as hands-on experience with various hand tools and power tools. The Apprentice Electrician will be guided in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Areas of responsibility under the Journeyperson Electrician
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems according to local codes and regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine installation requirements.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical tasks.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using logic controllers and other diagnostic equipment.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while working on job sites.
Experience and skills
expected for apprentice electricians at each stage of your apprenticeship.
First-Year Apprentice
Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety protocols
Ability to use hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers)
Familiarity with construction site etiquette and PPE (personal protective equipment)
Assisting journeymen with tasks such as pulling wire, mounting boxes, and cleaning up
Learning to read simple blueprints and electrical diagrams
Exposure to conduit bending and basic wiring techniques
Enrolling in or attending classroom training (if part of a formal program)
Second-Year Apprentice
Improved proficiency with tools and materials
Experience with installing conduit, cable trays, and basic fixtures
Understanding of local electrical codes and regulations
Ability to read and interpret more complex blueprints and schematics
Performing basic troubleshooting under supervision
Beginning to work independently on simpler tasks
Continued classroom education in electrical theory and code
Third-Year Apprentice
Strong grasp of electrical systems and components
Installing and wiring panels, transformers, and motor controls
Conducting more advanced troubleshooting and repairs
Working with low-voltage systems (e.g., fire alarms, data cabling)
Leading small tasks or crews under supervision
Preparing for licensing exams or certifications
Applying code knowledge to real-world installations
Fourth-Year Apprentice
Near-journeyman level skill and independence
Full understanding of electrical code and safety standards
Planning and executing complex installations
Supervising junior apprentices and mentoring
Performing detailed diagnostics and system testing
Preparing for final journeyman exam or certification
Coordinating with other trades and project managers
