We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Applications Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in preparing detailed proposals by reviewing engineering specifications and working closely with clients and suppliers. You will be a vital link between the customer's needs and our technical expertise, ensuring accurate, competitive, and timely solutions for chemical feed, pump, tank, and mixing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Development:
Review and interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements provided by clients.
Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals, including system designs, equipment specifications, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between the proposal and production capabilities.
Client Engagement:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the proposal stage, addressing inquiries and providing technical clarifications.
Conduct client meetings to review project requirements, discuss proposed solutions, and establish clear communication channels.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure trust and satisfaction.
Supplier Collaboration:
Source and evaluate components and materials from suppliers to ensure they meet project requirements and budget constraints.
Work with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing, delivery schedules, and technical data for inclusion in proposals.
Maintain an up-to-date database of reliable suppliers and their offerings.
Technical Expertise:
Leverage industry knowledge in mining, pulp & paper, and wastewater industries to propose solutions that align with client expectations and industry standards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Stay updated on new technologies and product developments to enhance proposal quality and innovation.
Documentation & Reporting:
Create and maintain detailed proposal documents, including technical write-ups, cost breakdowns, and project schedules.
Provide regular updates to management on proposal status, client feedback, and market trends.
Support the transition of successful proposals to the project execution team by providing necessary documentation and technical input.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
2+ years of experience in preparing proposals, quoting, or applications engineering.
Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting engineering specifications and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, chemical feed systems, and related equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and suppliers.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, CRM, ERP, Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management tools.
