The Position
Norcada is currently looking for an Applications Scientist to support the to support the manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation and applications development of our new products. The new Scientist will join the Instrumentation team, reporting to the Director of Instrument Manufacturing and Assembly, who oversees our design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of our range of electron and x-ray microscopy/spectroscopy holders, end stations, and X-ray products.
We are seeking individuals with a University-level education and experience with a proven track record in design of experiments, sample analysis, microscopy, sample preparation, electrochemistry, in-situ heating, in-situ biasing and catalysis. This is a full time, permanent position and provides medical and pension benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Design of experiments and characterization plans to analyze internal and customer samples with our suite of in-situ analysis solutions.
May be asked to provide feedback on product performance.
Collaborate with the marketing department to prepare live demos, webinars, white papers and website content.
Collaborate with the Instrumentation Department to test in-situ holder packages before shipment, write customer manuals and SOPs for holder products.
Support product installations and customer support
Coordinate people, projects, and sales activities in order to support our world-renowned delivery excellence
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism that is required from employees of a trusted high-tech brand
Qualification and Experience
Post-secondary education in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MSc, PhD).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant fields to the job description. Industry experience and/or MSc or PhD level project experience required.
High level of competency using electron and/or X-ray microscopes or synchrotron end-stations.
Good command of electrical, mechanical and fluidic testing using heat, electrochemistry and electro biasing systems
In-situ Heating, Heating+Gas/Catalysis, Electrochemistry and other relevant work/research experience
Good technical understanding and ability to learn new hardware and software quickly in a fast paced/high tech environment
