Strides Toronto collaborates with 23 publicly funded infant, child and youth mental health (ICYMH) core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that promote access, responsive service delivery and experience, and positive mental health outcomes for young people and families across Toronto's diverse communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE




The

Application Specialist

is a

one-year full-time contract position

that provides expertise for administration, customization, optimization, and support of the organization's Client Information System(s) and related applications, and to ensure that they meet the needs and requirements of the users and the business.

Salary range: $73,265.00 to $85,319.00 per annum.

This is a one-year full-time contract position till February 2027.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



Act as subject matter expert for the Client Information System (CIS), overseeing adherence to technical and clinical processes and workflows. Provide support to CIS users by actively listening, understanding their needs, proposing solutions, and collaborating with vendor(s) to optimize CIS functionality. Ensure a seamless client service experience, minimizing negative impacts. Utilize Strides' ticket management system to provide first and second level support for Strides' users and partner members that access the CIS system and related clinical applications. Collect information and scope out specifications with key stakeholders to create customized reports and forms using standard tools within CIS and other applicable tools. Liaise with internal employees and/or external partners to coordinate data submissions to the Ministry of Health by following the standard organizational practices maintaining strict adherence to deadlines, and follow-up timely to investigate errors and exceptions in the submissions. Ensure that all software/ applications organization wide are available and functioning optimally. Provide ongoing support to employees including access, training and awareness of updates or changes. Provide on-going communication, training, and knowledge enablement to employees regarding application capabilities, new features and updates. Develop and deliver training to internal end-users or other trainers that support the end-user's ability to utilize the organizational or departmental application(s) successfully and independently. Create materials that support end-user training and enable use of the applications post-training.

THE "MUST HAVES"




The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

Completion of College or University Degree in Information Technology related field. 5 years of experience in a related field. Sound knowledge of multi-tier product architecture, SaaS, IaaS, communications protocols, and database concepts and best practices. Sound knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructure: Virtualization, Server, Networks, SAN. Understanding of Privacy legislation (PHIPA, PIPEDA). Strong communication, customer-service, and interpersonal skills in a user-facing role. Ability to be productive independently and in a collaborative team environment while managing one's time effectively. Proven self-starter with sound judgment and prioritization abilities with evidence of innovative thinking. Demonstrated ability for critical and logical thinking. Diplomacy, tact and ability to negotiate deliverables with users, colleagues, and stakeholders. Ability to plan highly complex projects and successfully follow through on deliverables. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple conflicting demands. Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced work environment.

THE 'NICE TO HAVES'




While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following:

Fluency in another language(s), including sign language. Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position. An understanding of Anti-Black Racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health when working with clients and their families. Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of and imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts for the client.
