Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on
Application Specialist
to join our
Product Development Team
. This role bridges technical expertise and customer engagement -- ideal for someone who enjoys both benchwork and real-world problem-solving with researchers and professors. You will be responsible for validating workflows, optimizing protocols, supporting product demonstrations, and providing scientific solutions tailored to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the engineers to design, validate, and optimize liquid handling workflows for
qPCR
,
nucleic acid extraction
, and
NGS library preparation
.
Run biological experiments both manually and on Aumintec's automated platforms to compare and validate instrument performance.
Evaluate and compare assay kits, enzymes, and reagents from different vendors to ensure compatibility with Aumintec's automated platforms.
Support the marketing specialistsby providing scientific expertise during demos, presentations, and customer visits.
Engage directly with customers (professors, researchers, and lab managers) to understand their research needs and propose customized workflow solutions.
Participate in on-site demonstrations, training sessions, conference, and tradeshows at universities, research institutions.
Prepare validation documents, application notes, and presentations to support product marketing and user education.
Provide feedback to internal engineering and R&D teams for continuous product improvement.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in
Molecular biology
,
Biotechnology
,
Biomedical Sciences
,
Biomedical Engineering
, or a related field.
Experience:
1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience
with
qPCR
,
nucleic acid extraction
, and
NGS workflows
.
Experience with liquid handling automation (protocol development) is an asset.
Prior experience in a biotech company, instrument manufacturer, or research core facility is an asset.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and troubleshoot molecular workflows.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Comfortable interacting with academic and industrial clients.
