The Application Engineer will be supporting technology updates and software implementations, consulting various teams through change and procurement strategies, and supporting business case activities. Supporting senior leadership, the Application Engineer will be responsible for presenting findings and technical solutions.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do
  • Coordinate with CMO Leadership and engage IMITS technical teams, Service Providers and vendors to ensure readiness and delivery of solutions to the clients. This includes performing project and change management activities such as gathering, drafting and validating project related documents or processes;
  • Specifically but not only:
    • Engaging with VCHA IMIT integration team for specifications
    • Review of all the existing systems that are required to be integrated, into the new system.
    • Steering Committee presentations and updates
    • Customization and design of the solution
    • PHSA Engagements if required for Contracts, Server installations, procurement processes
    • Training Coordination, working on Test Plans in collaboration with the business



What you bring
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus a minimum of one (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 recent, related experience in a large, complex organization, including but not limited to, enterprise architecture, project management, systems analysis, application development, and operations or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Minimum five (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the specified area. Proven record of success in both creating and executing complex transformative initiatives for major corporations
  • A strategic business thinker who is able to \xe2\x80\x9cbridge\xe2\x80\x9d IT and business objectives to deliver customer value while ensuring organizational alignment and executive commitment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation talents to effectively engage all levels of the organization.
  • Deep yet broad technology experience including digital change initiatives, infrastructure builds, large scale systems implementations, new product introductions, eCommerce integrations and emergent architectures.
  • Strong working knowledge in Python, RUBY and Java programing languages
  • Good understanding of virtual machine management using Linux and Windows operating frameworks

  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).



Job Type: Casual full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
Salary Range: $47.00 - $57.00/hour. As a casual employee, total earnings includes an additional 12.6% in lieu of benefits and paid time off
