Job Description

Caracal Technologies Inc. is an R&D firm developing embedded products and cloud-based solutions for unattended payment systems. We have a relatively small, close-knit team that has fun using many technologies to solve our customers' unique needs. We are growing and are looking for an Application Developer with at least 7 years of post-graduation experience to join our team of engineers and developers.

Key Responsibilities

? Develop new front-end applications (React);

? Support, and enhance existing applications (.Net Web Forms);

? Maintain related back-end processes (.Net);

? Support environment and optimize infrastructure (AWS)

General Responsibilities

? Participate in defining the application architecture and determining hardware and software requirements, development, and operational cost;

? Research and evaluate a variety of tools, libraries, and plugins;

? Prepare mock-ups and storyboards for UI/UX and backend processes;

? Develop the applications according to the specifications, requests, and priorities;

? Support existing applications, debug and fix them if necessary;

? Collaborate with the team on integration, data processing, and embedding solutions;

? Perform functional unit tests as well as security and quality controls;

? Manage code versions and commits;

? Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions;

? Prepare reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software;

? Assist in the collection and documentation of business and technical requirements, as well as the architecture of the applications and data structure;

Required Skills & Tools

? Back End - C#, .Net (API, Web Forms, Windows Services), Python (nice to have)

? Front End - JavaScript, TypeScript, React , Angular 9+ (nice to have), HTML, CSS, Responsive Design

? AWS - S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, SQS, EC2, CloudFront

? Database - Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL

? Tools - Visual Studio, VS Code, Postman

We're located near Broadway and Oak in Vancouver, near major transit connections.

This position is for in-office work (not hybrid work).
