Durham Bone and Joint Specialists (DBJS) is committed to delivering orthopedic care, within a system that provides accessibility and quality, in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal related illnesses. Established in 2019, our team currently includes 8 orthopedic surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Providers, who work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment to meet the growing needs of Durham region patients.

We are looking for an Application Developer and System Administrator to join the DBJS team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining clinical applications used for patient care, operational monitoring and research analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will be responsible for the following key deliverables:

Design, develop, maintain custom build web applications for internal operations Work closely with clinical team members to identify digital efficiency and enhancement opportunities in routine work flow processes Knowledge of AI and machine learning is key Work with stakeholders to understand and analyze clinical documentation requirements and support technical advancement solutions Support system maintenance and performance installation/upgrade activities on Windows workstations and Linux servers Maintain database integration and security compliance Manage web interface and update website content

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Computer Engineering, two (2) of these years in a similar Application Developer role Experience working with databases including MySQL/MariaDB Strong knowledge of UI Technologies: HTML 5, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, PHP, JavaScript and Python Experience with WordPress, Web Service and API design and development Knowledge of software development and User Interfaces Design Superior organization skills and the ability to work efficiently Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, make decisions and take initiative while working with confidential patient information Superior work ethic, professionalism and reliability; demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service Experience developing in Windows and Linux/Unix environments; experience in web programming and scripting, including PHP and JavaScript.; Laravel Framework; Strong database back-end skills, including MySQL and Postgres; proven application development risk and security execution; Proven strong understanding of Git version control. Proven understanding of Machine Learning and AI Excellent communication skills; Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to effectively convey proposed ideas
