Position Overview:




Compugen is seeking a Application Architect for an initial 1 year contract working remotely. Candidates must currently reside within Canada and be available to work CT.

Key Responsibilities:




Design and develop application architectures, frameworks, and strategies aligned with organizational goals and application requirements. Define architectural standards and approaches for web-based solutions. Identify business policies and technical requirements that shape solution design. Evaluate and recommend technology alternatives to address business challenges. Ensure cohesive integration across all components of the technology solution. Stay informed on industry and government technology trends to ensure alignment with strategic direction. Analyze functional requirements to map information flows, procedures, and decision-making processes. Assess and document existing systems, including database structures, application sub-systems, and data dictionaries. Define and document interfaces between manual and automated processes, external systems, and legacy applications. Specify input/output sources and create detailed plans for the technical design phase, securing stakeholder approval. Establish system-specific standards for programming, documentation, testing, and naming conventions. Perform architectural modeling to maintain consistency with existing systems and frameworks. Assess the impact of new requirements on current web applications and infrastructure. Validate that implemented functionalities meet defined specifications and quality standards. Define architectural assumptions and constraints, including physical infrastructure and data collection methods. Develop post-implementation plans to monitor and ensure architectural stability over time.

Skills & Qualifications:




Software Architecture Design


Understanding of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, monolithic, event-driven). Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and secure systems.

Programming Languages


Proficiency in languages like Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or others depending on the tech stack.

Cloud Platforms


Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing applications.

DevOps & CI/CD


Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Databases


Knowledge of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.

API Design


RESTful and GraphQL API design and integration.

Security Best Practices


Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
