The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a Mobile Communications Services Administrator to be the lead technical resource and administrator for mobile communications devices and services used by the EPS. The technology supported includes BlackBerry devices, cell phones, accessories, wireless data systems/services, air cards and related system infrastructure and interfaces. The general responsibility of this position is to ensure that EPS members have the mobile communications devices and services that they require to perform their duties, by activities including:

  • Monitoring service and equipment performance and repair or liaise with service providers and to ensure prompt resolution of any equipment or service issue.
  • Maintaining an Inventory Control system for all mobile communications equipment and associated services.
  • Auditing bills for mobile communications services and resolving any error or discrepancies.
  • Preparing, formatting and regular distribution of various reports on billing and devices under administration.
  • Overseeing the production and distribution of internal reports relating to mobile communication services.
  • Forecasting annual budget requirements for the mobile communications area.
  • Monitoring the current year's budget performance and assist in the resolution of accounting record discrepancies.
  • Assist in strategic planning to ensure that future mobile communications needs of the EPS will be met.
  • Leading projects relating to mobile communications.
  • Lead in the continuous improvement of the delivery of mobile communications services to the EPS.
  • Liaising with service providers on service features and packages.
Qualifications

Job Level:
  • Degree in a related Discipline and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • OR Post-secondary diploma in a related discipline and 2 years relevant experience.
  • OR 1-year related certificate and 4 years relevant experience.

  • As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week between the hours of 07:30 - 16:00, Monday to Friday.

Salary Range:

21B, Salary Grade: 044, $41.00 - $51.66 (Hourly), $3,280.30 - $4,133.40 (Bi-Weekly), $85,616.35 - $107,882.78 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
