What You Will Do
The applicant will be responsible for addressing service calls in the field (Vancouver and Lower Mainland). Also, installation of equipment and production lines in the field with a team or leader. This includes traveling in the Lower Mainland, may sometimes include trips to Vancouver Island and BC Interior.
Position includes
: service vehicle fully equipped with power tools, portable mini welder, spare parts etc. Basic hand tools are to be supplied by applicant. List of hand tools required will be provided by EM.
Responsibilities
Diagnose issues with appliances and determine the appropriate repair methods.
Perform repairs on a wide range of appliances, including ovens, proofers, mixers, dough moulding machines, and other bakery appliances.
Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems effectively.
Assemble and disassemble appliances as needed for repairs or maintenance.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repair processes and timelines and payments
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used during repairs and detail reports in company ERP systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing all tasks.
Stay updated on the latest appliance technologies and repair techniques.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in appliance repair.
Proficiency in HVAC systems is a plus.
Solid understanding of electrical systems and schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Ability to assemble and disassemble various types of appliances efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
REQUIRMENTS
Some electrical experience (basic - motor control, motors, switches, relays, proximity sensors, electrical blueprint readings)
Some mechanical Experience (shaft, bearings, gears, pulleys, conveyors, chains, v-belts, conveyor belts)
Knowledge of Basic Plumbing (sold copper lines, fittings)
Clean driving record with minimum of Class 5 BC Drivers License (will drive company vehicle)
Travel required in the Lower Mainland, with possibility of Western Canada travel
Clean record of employment, no criminal history.
Full time position, hourly wage commiserate with experience plus performance incentive pay

High school diploma or GED
Electrical certificate an asset-- motor control and plc components, electrical blueprint reading
Gas Appliance repair ticket, or willingness to achieve this, an asset.
Grade 12 English or equivalent, speaking and writing skills - mandatory
