Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Apiary Worker to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining and managing beekeeping operations, ensuring the health and productivity of our hives. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, supporting sustainable honey production and pollination efforts. The Apiary Worker will play a vital part in hive maintenance, equipment management, and supporting overall apiary health.

Responsibilities

Assist with the inspection and maintenance of beehives to ensure hive health and productivity Perform routine repairs and maintenance on apiary equipment using hand tools and power tools Manage hive logistics, including relocating hives as needed for optimal pollination or honey production Monitor bee activity and identify signs of disease or pests, implementing appropriate interventions Support with irrigation systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions for bees and plants Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment safely for hive transportation or land management tasks Conduct basic math calculations related to hive measurements, honey extraction, and inventory tracking Assist with general farm maintenance tasks, including landscaping, fencing, and cleaning apiary areas Heavy lifting of hive boxes, equipment, or supplies as required to support apiary operations

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, and farm machinery is preferred Mechanical knowledge useful for maintaining and repairing equipment Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions Strong attention to detail for hive inspections and disease monitoring Good physical stamina to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Basic math skills for measurements, inventory management, and record keeping Prior experience in beekeeping or agricultural work is a plus but not required; training will be provided as needed
