Job summary

Our after-school educational program is seeking energetic and talented teachers in English and Social Studies for grade 8 - 12 students. We tailor our curriculum for the needs of both struggling and gifted students to reach their full potential. We are looking for enthusiastic tutors to deliver a set curriculum. You will work with individual students one-on-one and in group classes.

Teaching responsibilities

Deliver a pre-designed curriculum, employing proven study aides Design individualized learning plans Assign and mark additional homework assignments and essays Perform regular assessments of student performance and compile progress reports Collaborate with the program director to improve the curriculum and ensure the delivery method best suits the student

Qualifications and skills

Graduate degree in Arts or Bachelor's degree in Education is required 3+ years of teaching experience Have a full curriculum for teaching AP History courses BC Teacher Certification is an asset Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong work ethics - punctual, organized, recording keeping, team player Enthusiastic and flexible in teaching methods that promote the well-being of students

Employment status

This position involves tutoring in a self-employed capacity. The number of hours may vary per week and per student, with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

Pay: $30.00-$70.00 per hour

Monday to Friday Night shift On call Weekends as needed
