Job Description

CoSA VFX is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment looking for experienced Animators for current and upcoming projects. This role reports to the Global Head of CG While this is a remote role, artists in British Columbia and Ontario will be given preference. Successful candidates must demonstrate a broad range of character, camera, and hard-surface animation skills. This includes a deep understanding of the principles of animation, and how to best employ those principles to create naturalistic animated elements for a variety of visual effects shots. An understanding of character rigging and a fundamental understanding of the technical processes involved, functionality, and requirements is highly desirable. Responsibilities:

• Create and generate high-quality character, creature, and hard-surface animations that meet the required direction.
• Solve creative problems using simple and efficient techniques, communicate ideas and techniques with teammates, and iterate rapidly based on client notes.
• Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, actively participate in dailies and team reviews of work.
• Work collaboratively as a part of a team on a cross-section of animation styles on both realistic and stylized projects.
• Engage effectively on multiple projects at the same time.
  

• 3+ years of working experience in a production environment.
• Expert knowledge of animation principles with experience in Character and Hard Surface Animation.
• Excellent knowledge of Maya.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
