Gearbox Software est a la recherche d'un Concepteur.trice technique en animation talentueux(se) pour concevoir, implementer et maintenir les systemes d'animation en jeu qui donnent vie a nos personnages. Vous serez responsable de la creation et de l'optimisation des systemes lies a la locomotion des personnages, aux capacites, aux animations de combat, et plus encore, en collaborant etroitement avec les equipes d'animation et d'ingenierie afin d'assurer une integration fluide et des performances de haute qualite.
Responsabilites :

  • Travailler en equipe et creer:Collaborez etroitement avec les equipes Animation, Ingenierie et Design pour offrir une experience de jeu coherente et immersive grace a des animations percutantes.
  • Faconner l'avenir : Travaillez avec les parties prenantes cles pour definir des objectifs clairs et concevoir des solutions d'animation evolutives, rendant la creation de contenu plus fluide et efficace.
  • Construire et affiner :Prenez en charge la creation et l'amelioration des systemes d'animation en jeu, en equilibrant toujours la vision artistique avec les besoins de performance.
  • Partager vos connaissances :Apportez un soutien technique et un mentorat aux animateurs, les aidant a developper leurs competences et a favoriser une communication forte entre les disciplines.
  • Documenter et ameliorer :Documentez regulierement les processus et partagez vos connaissances pour ameliorer en continu les flux de travail et favoriser une comprehension commune des technologies d'animation.
Competences requises :
  • Experience dans l'industrie :Minimum 3 ans d'experience professionnelle en animation, avec au moins un jeu AAA commercialise, et une solide maitrise de Maya
  • Expertise en gameplay: Excellente comprehension des mecaniques de jeu de tir a la premiere personne (FPS) et de la maniere dont les systemes d'animation en moteur (comme les state machines, blendspaces, et animation graphs) participent a une jouabilite engageante.
  • Competences techniques solides :Maitrise des outils d'animation temps reel et procedurale, incluant IK, Control Rig, retargeting, physique ragdoll, et motion matching.
  • Expert Unreal Engine:Plus de 2 ans d'experience avec Unreal Engine, incluant la programmation avec Blueprints et/ou C++, et une bonne maitrise des mathematiques vectorielles ainsi que des concepts fondamentaux de codage.
  • Resolution de problemes et collaboration : Excellentes competences en communication et en resolution de problemes, avec la capacite de faire le lien entre les equipes creatives et techniques.
  • Toujours en apprentissage :Passion pour les dernieres avancees en matiere d'animation, d'Unreal Engine et de Maya, demontree par un portfolio solide.

Who You Are:
We are seeking a skilled Technical design Animator to design, implement, and maintain the in-game animation systems that bring our characters to life. You'll be responsible for building and optimizing systems for character locomotion, abilities, combat animations, and more, working closely with animators and engineers to ensure seamless integration and high-quality performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Team Up & Create: Collaborate closely with our Animation, Engineering, and Design teams to create a cohesive and immersive gameplay experience through compelling animation.
  • Shape the Future: Work with key stakeholders to define clear goals and build scalable animation solutions that make content creation smoother and more efficient.
  • Build & Refine: Take ownership of building and improving our in-game animation systems, always balancing artistic vision with performance needs.
  • Share Your Knowledge: Provide technical support and mentorship to our animators, helping them grow their skills and fostering strong communication across disciplines.
  • Document & Improve: Regularly document processes and share insights to continuously improve team workflows and build a shared understanding of our animation technology.
Required Qualifications:
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years of professional animation experience, with at least one shipped AAA title under your belt, and strong Maya skills.
  • Game Feel Expertise: A deep understanding of first-person shooter mechanics and how in-engine animation systems (like state machines, blendspaces, and animation graphs) contribute to engaging gameplay.
  • Technical Toolkit: Proficiency with run-time and procedural animation tools, including IK, Control Rig, retargeting, ragdoll physics, and motion matching.
  • Unreal Engine Power User: 2+ years of experience with Unreal Engine, including scripting with Blueprints and/or C++, and a solid grasp of vector math and core coding concepts.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solver: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and creative teams.
  • Always Learning: A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Unreal Engine, Maya, and animation technologies, demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
