Job Description
Our client in Calgary SE is seeking an Animal Shelter Vet Technician to join their team for 3 months. Working under the direction of the facility supervisor, you will be responsible for working with the animals, cleaning, feeding and refreshing animal enclosures and kennels. Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and re-set dog and cat kennels and litterboxes, maintaining a high level of sanitization
- Spread fresh litter and bedding materials like straw, paper, sawdust, or gravel
- Coordinating cleaning activities with vet team to ensure kennels are available as needed
- Clean floors and garage using brooms, mops, pressure washer, spray foamer, and motorized floor scrubber \xe2\x80\x93 training will be provided
- Refill supplies such as food, litter, etc.
- Wash dishes and laundry
- Collect and take out trash
- Minimum two years working in an animal shelter is required
- Must be able to lift, bend, squat, and stand throughout the day
- Must be comfortable working in noisy environment, exposure to dog barking (hearing protection will be available)
- Will be required to pick up animal feces, PPE will be available on site
- Must be team oriented and also able to work well independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Great communication skills, spoken and written
