Job Summary

In Vivo Technician\xe2\x80\x93 Toxicology

As an In Vivo Technician for our Toxicology team in Sherbrooke (QC), you will be responsible is responsible for ensuring the welfare of the animals and the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

\xe2\xa6\x81 Perform technical tasks (administration of test drugs, blood sampling, etc.)
\xe2\xa6\x81 Observe animals and collect data from our studies (Bodyweight, food consumption, etc...)
\xe2\xa6\x81 Maintain the living conditions of the animals according to the highest standards of well-being in the industry (Handling animals and cleaning of rooms).

Key Elements

If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you in the rest:

\xe2\xa6\x81 College Diploma in Animal Health, in Environmental and Wildlife management or in Biotechnology or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Biology or any related Animal Science discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Understanding of written English.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Good observation skills.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Being able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Role Specific Information:

\xe2\xa6\x81 Location: easily accessible using Sherbrooke\xe2\x80\x99s public transit system. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Pay: Starting at 22.50$/hrs. Opportunity to start at higher level and higher salary with specific research experience. Based on performance, salary could increase to $24/hrs in 1 year.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Schedule: Full time, permanent position (37.5 hours/week), depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime. Weekend work (rotation) and bonus ($2.75/hour).

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
