POSITION: Night Emergency Personnel/ Animal Control Officer 1 (NEP ACO1)
STATUS: Auxiliary; Permanent
SHIFT: On Call
LOCATION: Burnaby Animal Centre
CLASSIFICATION: CUPE 1622
WAGE: $21.34 per hour

The BC SPCA Burnaby Animal Centre is looking to fill an Auxiliary permanent position as Night Emergency Personnel/ Animal Control Officer 1 (NEP ACO1). Primary Key Responsibilities of this position:

• Responding to all telephone calls pertaining to emergency situations of injured or distressed animals
• Advising the general public on the disposition of such injured or distressed animals
• Assist Police, Fire or other protective services in all matters concerning the safety and husbandry of such animals.

Required Qualifications:

• A good working knowledge of the geographical area as supported by the Animal Centre
• Valid BC Class N or 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
• Grade 12 Education
• Mature and responsible person
• Good physical condition or prepared to take an examination
• Sound basic knowledge of animal husbandry
• Ability to work with the public and smart appearance
• Philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the BC SPCA
• Familiar with working in a union environment
• Criminal Record Check
