Job Responsibilities - Animal Care Centre, located inside the Sunridge Petland
You are a people and animal person! Along with great communication skills and strong work ethic, you work well as part of a team to send to our company stores the best animals available in the care centre. Along with your team members on a daily basis you will report on the animals' well-being as well as care for them in a safe and timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
New animal intake and set up
Inspect and land new animals, birds, reptiles in to the distribution centre in Sunridge Petland
Bring to centre supervisors attention any animals that do not meet our Intake Exams Standards with professionalism
Create and/or fill out observation charts or medical charts for all the necessary animals/reptiles
Separate and set up enclosures as per species and behaviours
Provide feedback to the managers on the state of the animals upon arrival
Ensure all invoices received/created are correct and send to accounting CC manager
Ongoing animal care and observation
Ensure all animals are cared for at the high standard we hold
Fully clean all the animal enclosures daily and ensure the 4 basic needs are met continuously
Ensure all baby birds are being fed and weaned appropriately and fledged correctly
Ensure all observation charts are kept maintained on a daily basis
Ensure Daily task lists are followed and signed off appropriately
Address any animal health concerns with animal care center supervisor
Ensuring all animals are fed and watered daily
Clean your work space as you go
Wash and clean dishes, cages, hides, toys, blankets and etc. for continued use
Operational support
Assist with packing and preparing animals for shipment/transfers
Assist with landing new animals to the distribution centre
Ensure stores receive appropriate paperwork with animals received
Ensure we only send the best quality of animal to the stores
Be a part of developing and implementing new procedures and policies
Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all staff
Vender relations
Maintain good working relations with partnered vendors, vets and breeders as necessary
