Animal Care Attendant

ARF is hiring a part-time Animal Care Assistant. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for animals, remain calm under pressure in a forever changing environment and can handle the physical aspects the job requires. The main goal of an animal care attendant is to provide a high standard of sanitation and ability to follow protocols.

Job Duties:

Maintain cleanliness in all animal care areas, including kennels and tools. Handle laundry duties. Lift items up to 50 lbs. Follow quarantine and cleaning protocols. Work in settings with potential disease exposure or emotional challenges. Take direction from the Animal Program Director, support teamwork. Provide fresh food and water for animals. Actively ensure top-quality animal care. Assist with facility cleaning and team support as needed. Always comply with ARF's Code of Conduct. Show respect to volunteers and team members.

Experience:

Animal care and handling, animal rescue, and/or kennel experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

A passion for animal welfare and working with animals is mandatory.

Qualifications:

Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.

Over 18 years old.

Observant and able to follow procedures.

Confidence working around cats and dogs.

Ability to perform heavy-lifting and be on feet for the duration of the shift.

Access to a reliable form of transportation to commute to ARF's facility in NE Calgary.

Availability/Schedule:

ARF is looking for someone who is available to work a variety of 3 to 4 hours shifts, including mornings and evening shifts, weekend shift coverage, and some holiday shift coverage. Our facility runs 365 days a year.

Contact:

$16/hour. Part time 20 - 30 hours a week.
