Our Marketplace team is solely focused on bringing a modern and cohesive experience across our mobile apps. We want our users to experience best-in-class UI/UX on every platform. Our apps should be intuitive for new users and delightful to use for existing users. As an Android Engineer on the Marketplace team, you can help us deliver incredible experiences to our users and build tools to enable other engineers to do the same.

What we are working on:

- Building a Trader design system, a component library built upon the latest technologies such as Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to enable teams at Trader to work faster and at a higher quality bar.

- Driving new features from end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.

- Crafting a modern user experience for browsing and selling vehicles via the Trader apps.

- Building the technical foundation for future features and experiences.

What we are looking for:

- Expertise with Kotlin with 3 to 5 years of experience within Android development

- A deep understanding of modern architectural and modular design patterns like MVVM

- Embracing the challenges of building data intensive, highly responsive, and fault tolerant apps in the constrained environment of a mobile device

- Strong communicator who knows how to facilitate discussion with a diverse range of stakeholders

- An inquisitive mind who is not afraid to make their voice heard

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver a high-quality mobile-first experience through architecture reviews and other team-based planning processes

- Partner across product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions to complex challenges

- Champion code quality and stability by driving pull request feedback sessions, test creation and continuous integration advancements

- Constantly improve upon your technical and non-technical skillset and help the team to do the same
