BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for Analytical Development & Data Support Student. This is position is in Dartmouth NS. This is a 4- month student term (May to August)

The candidate will be responsible for:

• General housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Ensuring the correct status labeling of reagents and instrumentation in the Analytical PD laboratory.
• Assisting scientists in preparing samples for routine sequencing analysis (Sanger and/or NGS) to support development.
• Performing basic sequencing data analysis using tools like Geneious.
• Assisting scientists to create or onboard bioinformatics pipelines.
• Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
• Complying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facility.
• Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s request.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or related field.
• Knowledge of molecular biology, sequencing, genomic sequencing tools.
• Knowledge of programming languages (R or Python), Docker or Nextflow is considered an asset.

Entry: $18.00 per hour
