Business group: GTA - GBME FICC& Equity Trading - Client's Information Technology & Solutions group provides global technology solutions that support Domestic Banking, International Banking, Global Banking & Markets, and Global Wealth & Insurance. Our teams deliver technology that drives sustained, profitable growth and provides competitive advantage for the bank. This role joins the internal xVA platform team responsible for calculating value adjustments for derivative products. The current team consists of 2 Business Analysts, 1 Development Lead, and 1 Developer, with two additional hires underway (1 contractor, 1 FTE Developer).
Project Overview - Commodities Expansion (Metals)
This onboarding effort is part of Phase II of the existing USCM initiative. The goal is to onboard metal products from Algo Credit onto the xVA platform within a condensed timeline of under two years. This project is scheduled to complete by end of FY26, with no further renewals anticipated.
This role plays a key part in Client's Global Banking & Markets Engineering team and supports delivery of system solutions for Front Office, Middle Office, and Regulatory partners. The incumbent will work closely with Quant teams to understand xVA model requirements and determine the types of model inputs they can provide for the commodities system, including market data inputs needed for metals trading.
Typical Day in Role:
Collaborate with key stakeholders -- including Front Office users, product teams, Quant specialists, and various technology partners -- to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into actionable plans, user stories, and functional specifications.
Lead and support discussions with the Quant team to validate xVA model inputs, understand valuation methodologies, and assess impacts on the metals onboarding initiative.
Drive modernization of legacy applications to improve efficiency, strengthen alignment across platforms, and maintain software currency within the Bank's architecture standards.
Analyze complex datasets to extract insights, validate assumptions, identify trends, and make informed recommendations that support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with market data teams to source, validate, and integrate the appropriate market data and reference data required for metals products.
Conduct gap analyses between current-state and target-state systems to determine required enhancements for onboarding commodities products onto the xVA platform.
Support solution design, including process flows, data mapping, interface specifications, and integration requirements with upstream and downstream systems.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and UAT activities for project deliverables.
Produce clear documentation -- including BRDs, FRDs, workflow diagrams, and model input specifications -- to support development and BAU teams.
Coordinate and perform testing activities (functional, regression, and integration), including creation of test cases and validation of model outputs for new or enhanced features.
Support production and lower environment issues as needed, with the ability to respond to after-hours incidents in a shared support rotation.
Collaborate with BAU xVA teams to ensure smooth knowledge transfer, including the creation of training materials, walkthrough sessions, and handover documentation.
Take ownership of assigned project streams, proactively manage risks and dependencies, and communicate progress to project leadership.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
10 years of relevant working experience, with 5+ years' experience in financial industry
Experience with financial derivative instruments
Experience with data analytics including intermediate skills with SQL database (need to be able to query and manipulate large sets of data, no need for advanced coding/queries writing)
Experience with commodities products
Experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery model
Nice-To-Have Skills:
Experience with metal products
Experience with xVA tool
Knowledge of system design, data modeling, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio
