The Canada Strategy & Transformation team is recruiting an Analyst to assist in driving the transformation at Manulife. The Canada Strategy & Transformation team works across Canada\xe2\x80\x99s businesses and functions, supporting senior management in developing Manulife Canada\xe2\x80\x99s long-term strategy and driving key strategic initiatives. Team members have access to a unique vantage point to participate in and shape some of the most important strategic decisions within our Canadian market and are part of a network of Global Strategy professionals, having exposure to businesses and functions across Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s global operations. The Analyst is responsible for the research and analysis in support of the development and execution of strategic projects. The Strategy Analyst drives goals in alignment with the organization\'s strategic objectives and client/customer needs, providing the right data and insights at the right time to help stakeholders solve challenging problems. The Analyst supports the strategic decisions via the thoughtful analysis and presentation of current state, firm strengths/challenges, industry/market trends and competitive research. The Strategy Analyst also delivers comprehensive, forward-looking advisory services to senior management, while maintaining an effective monitoring framework and process that will help ensure a successful execution on our strategy to achieve our objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with team members to drive Manulife Canada\xe2\x80\x99s transformation and strategic priorities, represent the team on cross-functional work, identify issues, escalate as required, and recommend solutions to keep priorities on track
  • Support business and function leaders in developing and accelerating strategic growth initiatives in line with the segment\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives
  • Participate in special projects involving research, analysis and synthesis of industry trends, market positioning or competitive activity to form recommendations and understand impact on the business
  • Participate in the delivery of annual planning and reporting activities for the segment
  • Support strategy discussions across the assigned key business units and with strategy groups across the organization
  • Work closely with Strategy peers across our Global Strategy Network, ensuring adherence to enterprise process and governance, where applicable
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education
  • Degree in business or equivalent
  • Prior experience in top tier management consulting, investment banking or similar strategy roles preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a strategy function (or equivalent) within large multi-national corporation
  • Good business acumen and understanding of the strategy function
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, very comfortable with quantitative & financial analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and get recommendations approved
  • Regarded as a realistic and practical individual, and is respected for ability to deliver
  • Must be a great communicator
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse environments and cultures
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Salary & Benefits The annual base salary for this role in the primary location of Toronto, Ontario is expected to be between $68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CAD. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
