The procurement analyst supports the director of national procurement and the Manager National Procurement by collecting and analysing data, including providing direction feedback from data collected. Accuracy will be highly important, to facilitate the decision process. The analyst will also produce follow-up reports and periodic performance including purchases, sales, suppliers\xe2\x80\x99 rebates, growth, margins etc. Additional tasks for this role would be: Running RFP when required, Monthly, quarterly and annually reporting, communications with internal departmental stakeholders and suppliers, updating national contracts electronically and manually. The analyst will be in direct relations with the three Canadian business units and all national suppliers.

WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL DO

Reporting to the Manager, National Procurement, the Analyst will:

  • Identify trends through purchase analysis, retail prices, vendor discounts and create graphic and financial chart models for the analysis of each of our categories and suppliers.
  • Analyze category profitability using ACT\'s financial analysis systems, such as our Business Intelligence (BI) system, or AC Nielsen (external market data collection system) to produce periodic or ad hoc reports on the category and/or suppliers.
  • Reporting through the collection, compilation, analysis and presentation of information.
  • Keep business agreements up-to-date and communicate with suppliers. Ensure adequate reporting to comply with all national procurement processes including synergy reports to each of our business entities.
  • Ensure data accuracy by working with business units and the procurement network, participating in internal meetings and updating changes to data requests.
  • Use communication skills in face-to-face or video meetings, telephone conversations and general technical communications with suppliers.
  • Participate in benchmarking exercises comparing data sets from one region or one vendor to another.
  • Manage the many growth-related performance programs we have implemented with our suppliers on a quarterly and annual basis, including providing alerts around potential missed opportunity gaps.
  • Prepare mid-year perspective, budget, annual business plan, and more.
  • Run RFP\xe2\x80\x99s as required for Canada, including collecting needed data from internal stake holders to frame the scope, launching the RFP and communicating with vendors to collect RFP data needed, and to provide final analysis and recommendation to stake holders on the RFP outcome.
  • Managing our UGI buying group scorecard and payments.
  • Lead the annual contract synergy process communicating and summarizing to stakeholders for approval.
  • Use other related skills as an assistant to the Director and Manager of National Procurement.
WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL NEED

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Education:

College/university degree or commensurate training and experience in data science / analyst field or a directly related field.

Knowledge and skills:
  • Good knowledge of IT, including the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to sort data in Excel to create templates, graphs and financial tables for clear and detailed use of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Proactive, action-oriented and forward-thinking.
  • Ability to communicate with members of the marketing team, supplier senior levels, and Directors in the company.
  • Good knowledge of the Ariba RFP system.
  • Some one who is able to tell stories with large datasets.
  • Good knowledge of Business intelligence tools such as PowerBI.
  • Someone who is very detail oriented and can work under pressure and balance multiple projects.
  • Someone who is able to perform cost analysis and provide recommendations based on that and skillful in managing procurement cost and saving strategies.
  • Someone who is able to evaluate tenders and create scorecards for evaluations and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess supplier capabilities and overall performance to ensure reliable partnership.
  • Someone who is comfortable negotiating terms, conditions and performance metrics with suppliers.
Language skills:

Bilingual (French and English)
