A role as an Analyst in the Loan Structuring & Syndication team ("LSS") at National Bank Capital Markets means actively participating and supporting team members from A - Z in the life cycle of a bank loan. The analyst will support team members from the origination of a syndicated bank loan to its distribution and financial close across a diverse range of industries and credit spectrum.
The Analyst will evolve in a team of highly motivated professionals, collaborate and learn about a broad range of capital markets products. This position will appeal to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and high-energy environment.

Your job

Conduct financial and comparable transaction analysis to propose supportable and syndicatable financing structures Prepare marketing and pitch materials to be presented to existing and potential clients which could include financing terms and conditions, syndication strategies, capital structure considerations, benchmarking analysis and other applicable information Help manage the distribution process in the syndication of transactions under the mid-market portfolio across the country, including coordinating lender meetings, virtual data rooms, lenders' Q&A etc. Develop a network with National Client Group bankers and syndication desks at other financial institutions Maintain pitch resources and benchmarking databases

As part of CIB, LSS is a team of 25 professionals focused on the origination, structuring, pricing, and distribution process for all syndicated loans at NBC. LSS team members interact with various external and internal stakeholders, including clients, lending and investment banking coverage teams, other syndicate lenders, portfolio management, credit adjudicators, and agency and operational groups. LSS has demonstrated considerable momentum over the last few years, culminating in record deal flow and 200+ Lead Left accounts, of which 110+ are outside of Quebec.

Prerequisites

Undergraduate degree in business or finance (e.g. B.Comm., B.B.A.) Professional designation (CPA, CFA) is an asset Strong analytical and numerical skills; solid grasp of financial risks Demonstrated interest in business, finance, and credit Excellent communication and writing skills; clear and structured Positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities Fluent in English; French proficiency is an asset Skilled in Microsoft Office; Bloomberg, Refinitiv, CapIQ are assets
