What is the opportunity?

As Investigator, you report directly to Manager, Investigative Support. You have the ability to incorporate financial crime investigative procedures within the framework of a Financial Institution, and you are able to process large amounts of information, and analyze and communicate that information in a clear and concise manner. Your self-discipline, experienced judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work under volumes and time pressures is essential. You are able to make sound decisions within tight time frames.

What will you do?

• Application of critical thinking to all case analysis to produce comprehensive analytical results
• Ability to develop financial models in Excel in performing analysis to support complex investigations
• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding and expertise of all processes, forms and templates that could be used during a CIS investigation. i.e. CIS Major Investigation Plan, Internal Investigation Reports, Prosecution briefs for Law Enforcement etc.
• Demonstrate the ability and knowledge required to participate and assist in more complex investigations
• Act in a timely manner when referring cases to an Investigator and /or Management
• Provide interview support to CIS Management and Investigative Managers as required
• Prepare prosecution briefs for law enforcement in appropriate cases and attend court and provide expert evidence on behalf of RBC when required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 5+ years of experience with RBC banking policies and procedures
• Bilingual in French & English, with strong written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of the Bills of Exchange Act and Canadian Payments Association (CPA) Rules
• Knowledge of Civil and Criminal Law
• Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proven knowledge of the following systems: EIM, CAMPS etc.

Nice-to-have

• University degree or equivalent experience
• Investigative and analytic experience
• Tracing experience
• Basic Accounting and or Business Law courses

L\xe2\x80\x99enqu\xc3\xaateur, Soutien aux enqu\xc3\xaates se rapporte directement au Directeur, Soutien aux enqu\xc3\xaates. La nature du r\xc3\xb4le requiert la capacit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99adapter les techniques d\xe2\x80\x99enqu\xc3\xaate du crime financier au contexte d\xe2\x80\x99une institution financi\xc3\xa8re. Cette t\xc3\xa2che exige la gestion de grande quantit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99information et la capacit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99analyser et de communiquer cette information de fa\xc3\xa7on claire et concise. Le titulaire du poste devra faire preuve de discipline, de discernement, de minutie et devra \xc3\xaatre en mesure de travailler sous pression (charge de travail et d\xc3\xa9lais). • Appliquer la pens\xc3\xa9e critique \xc3\xa0 tous les dossiers d\xe2\x80\x99analyse pour produire des r\xc3\xa9sultats analytiques complets
• Capacit\xc3\xa9 de d\xc3\xa9velopper des mod\xc3\xa8les financiers (Excel) lors d\xe2\x80\x99analyse afin d\xe2\x80\x99assister les enqu\xc3\xaates complexes
• D\xc3\xa9velopper et maintenir une compr\xc3\xa9hension d\xc3\xa9taill\xc3\xa9e et une expertise de tous les processus, formules et mod\xc3\xa8les pouvant \xc3\xaatre utilis\xc3\xa9s dans le cadre d\xe2\x80\x99une enqu\xc3\xaate du SCE, ex. Plan d\xe2\x80\x99enqu\xc3\xaate majeur SCE (CIS Major Investigation Plan), Rapport d\xe2\x80\x99enqu\xc3\xaate interne (Internal Investigation Report), bref de poursuite judiciaire pour les autorit\xc3\xa9s polici\xc3\xa8res, etc.
• D\xc3\xa9montrer la capacit\xc3\xa9 et la comp\xc3\xa9tence n\xc3\xa9cessaires afin d\xe2\x80\x99assister et de participer aux enqu\xc3\xaates plus complexes
• Agir promptement lorsqu\xe2\x80\x99un dossier est r\xc3\xa9f\xc3\xa9r\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa0 un Enqu\xc3\xaateur et/ou \xc3\xa0 la Haute Direction
• Fournir l\xe2\x80\x99assistance requise par les Directeurs, enqu\xc3\xaates et la Haute Direction lors des entrevues, si requis
• Pr\xc3\xa9parer des brefs de poursuites judiciaires pour les autorit\xc3\xa9s polici\xc3\xa8res lorsque n\xc3\xa9cessaires et t\xc3\xa9moigner \xc3\xa0 la cour en tant que t\xc3\xa9moin expert pour RBC, si requis

Exigences

• Minimum de 5 ans d\xe2\x80\x99exp\xc3\xa9rience avec les politiques et proc\xc3\xa9dures RBC
• Connaissance de la Loi sur les lettres de change et des r\xc3\xa8gles de de l\xe2\x80\x99Association Canadienne des Paiements (ACP)
• Compr\xc3\xa9hension du droit (civil et criminel)
• Excellentes comp\xc3\xa9tences de communications \xc3\xa9crites et orales
• Ma\xc3\xaetrise et comp\xc3\xa9tence dans l\xe2\x80\x99utilisation de MS Excel
• Excellentes connaissances des plateformes RBC : EIM, CAMPS, etc.
