Financial Advisory is hiring an analyst to help its Due Diligence team, part of the Grants & Loan Portfolio Services practice, to provide independent, fact-based due diligence services to several economic stimulus and job creation funding programs offered by all levels of government. You will be joining a diverse team of people dedicated to evaluating funding applications, including business plans and financial statements in order to identify risks and benefits.

What will your typical day look like?

Working collaboratively with the Due Diligence team, you will be responsible for supporting:
  • Assessment of business plans and funding applications to identify key financial, management, operational, project completion, repayment, and security risks;
  • Assessment of historical financial performance including key profitability, solvency, expense coverage, and liquidity metrics;
  • Assessment of key assumptions and reasonability of financial forecasts;
  • Creation of summary financial tables;
  • Completion of written qualitative risk assessments;
  • Completion of risk assessment template deliverables for clients; and
  • Communication with funding applicants to collect supplementary information.
About the team

Due Diligence is a growing practice of Financial Advisory practitioners that has led over 5,000 independent due diligence assessments for all levels of government representing more than $25.0 billion in provincial funding disbursements to help promote job growth and investment. The team\xe2\x80\x99s partnership with government and economic development agencies is built on a very strong foundation, and we are proud of our achievements over the past two decades as well as the valuable experience that our team has gathered along the way. Permanent Analysts within Financial Advisory join our Quick Start development program. Through Quick Start, analysts receive up-front training covering key topics from across our Financial Advisory practice, including advisory and technical skills, quality/risk processes, engagement lifecycle, and project management principles. Once the training is complete, our analysts are deployed on client engagements, proposals, and strategic initiatives. A CPA stream is available for analysts who need to obtain working hours for their designation.

The objective of our Quick Start program is to provide analysts with exposure to a broad range of engagements, projects, and initiatives from across all service lines within our Financial Advisory practice. By developing core skills across multiple dimensions, the program aims to assist our analysts in building their careers as future advisors and agile leaders.

  • Ability to analyze historical and forecasted financial statements and calculate key financial metrics and ratios;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment;
  • A flexible team player with strong problem solving abilities and commitment to quality;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel;
  • Good project management, business judgment and decision-making skills; and
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and detail-oriented.
