Job Summary:

The Analyst will support the integration and use of Mustimuhw Information Systems, a community electronic medical record (cEMR) within the organization, communities, and Tribal Councils in the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority's catchment area. The Analyst will develop agency-wide processes that cEMR users can refer to. The Analyst will provide project management support during the implementation phase of the cEMR in communities, and after the software has been implemented and established, will support day-to-day software use.

Accountability:

The Analyst - Health Information will report directly to the Manager - Health Information Systems

Schedule:

Call-in, early morning, late evening, weekdays, weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).
+ Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects in the Sioux Lookout Zone is an asset.
+ Minimum Grade 12 and/or Diploma or Degree in Healthcare Informatics, Health Information Management, or a related field or equivalent working experience acceptable to SLFNHA.
+ Minimum 1 year of experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience will be given strong consideration.
+ Experience with training and supporting medical professionals and other end users on software applications.
+ Experience with platforms such as OTN and OCEAN or other medical electronic referral platforms is a significant asset.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology
+ Knowledge of PHIPA and other relevant healthcare privacy legislation
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Applicants must possess a valid Ontario driver's license and own a reliable personal vehicle.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and expertise to staff and community clinicians using the cEMR Support the Health Information Manager to develop, implement, and report on engagement strategies to keep stakeholders apprised of progress. Act as an administrative liaison between Mustimuhw Information Solutions, Tribal Councils, and communities. Monitor the progress of implementation of Mustimuhw Information Solutions in Tribal Councils and communities Provide project management support to the Health Information Manager and Mustimuhw Information Solutions with cEMR implementation in communities and Tribal Councils by providing written and verbal updates to the manager on the progress of implementation and any barriers/challenges. Work with communities, Tribal Councils, Mustimuhw Information Solutions, and the Health Information Manager to troubleshoot challenges or barriers arising in the implementation or ongoing use of Mustimuhw. Provide ongoing support to communities after Mustimuhw is implemented and support sustainability Support the Manager with monitoring the budget and the cEMR licensing agreements Attend meetings or training (online or in-person) assigned by the Health Information Manager Assist with other health information-related activities as required. Required to complete Stand-By / Call Back shifts. Other duties as required
