As part of our growing Workplace Benefits Reporting (WBR) data team, we are looking for an Analyst who will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Power BI environment, supporting data governance initiatives, and assisting with data analytics projects and BAU activities. This role requires someone who is comfortable working hands-on with data, understands its sensitivity, and can adapt to a variety of tasks-from technical administration to meeting coordination etc. This role is located in Toronto, Ontario.
What you will do
Power BI Administration

  • Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, and user access permissions
  • Monitor capacity usage, identify performance spikes, and collaborate with developers to optimize reports
  • Implement governance for Power BI reports, certify datasets, and ensure scalability and security
  • Configure gateways and security roles as needed
Data Governance Support
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards
  • Perform data tagging and classification within the Connected Data Platform (CDP)
  • Understand data sensitivity and privacy requirements (e.g., PII handling)
Data Analytics & BAU Support
  • Develop a strong understanding of data sources and extraction processes
  • Assist with data preparation for analytics projects and recurring reporting needs
  • Support leaders with ad-hoc data requests, presentations (PowerPoint), and meeting coordination
  • Be prepared to work hands-on with data-cleaning, organizing, and validating as needed
What you will bring
Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Power BI administration (workspace management, gateway configuration, security roles)
  • Strong understanding of Power BI architecture and performance optimization
  • SQL for data querying and extraction.
Data Governance Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (data quality, metadata management, data classification)
  • Experience with data tagging and cataloging tools
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., handling PII)
Additional Skills:
  • 2+ years in Power BI administration or similar BI platform management
  • Exposure to enterprise data governance programs
  • Experience in monitoring and optimizing BI performance at scale
  • Familiarity with data extraction and preparation for analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with developers and governance teams
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse) considered an asset
  • Familiarity with enterprise data catalog tools considered an asset
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance - this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. The base salary for this position is between $58,600 - $97,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
